Wilderness Bound is live
Mojang released Minecraft 26.3 "Wilderness Bound" on September 15, the autumn game drop of 2026. It's now fully supported on LightClient. Update the launcher and 26.3 shows up in your version list automatically. No manual install, no config files.
What's new in 26.3
🍂 The Dappled Forest A new cold biome stuck in permanent autumn, inspired by the forests of Michigan. Comes with poplar trees, red shrubs, and shelf mushrooms.
⛺ Abandoned Camps A new structure scattered across the world, with chests and barrels full of loot, campfires, and the occasional straw bed. Some of them hold upgraded Explorer Maps pointing to Woodland Mansions and Ocean Monuments.
🛋️ Cushions You can finally sit down. Place them on any flat surface — your base is about to look a lot more lived-in.
🛏️ Straw Beds Skip the night without resetting your spawn point. Perfect for camping trips far from home.
🧱 New building blocks Wool stairs and slabs, plus concrete stairs and slabs in all 16 colors.
👥 Realms invite codes Realm owners can now create and manage invite codes, so getting friends in is a lot less painful.
✨ Under the hood A new order-independent transparency algorithm replaces the old "Improved Transparency" option, and the main menu has a fresh panorama showing off the Dappled Forest.
How to update
- Open LightClient and let it update itself (or grab the latest build from the download page).
- Create a new instance, or switch the version on an existing one.
- Hit play.
Your existing instances stay untouched, 26.3 installs alongside everything you already have.
